Suggest Treatment For Lower Left Back Pain

In September I pulled a muscle(?) in my lower back on the left side. I have a catch in my walk sometimes, and leg goes weak. When I first injured it walking on any incline was painful, but pain was more in the joint of my hip. Am trying to do mild stretches to ease pain, but is probably making this worse. I do have a regular doctor but want to heal myself. lol

Hi,

Please stop doing stretches if it is making your pain worse. Take a combination of painkiller and muscle relaxant like cipzox for symptomatic relief for 5 to 10 days. Use local analgesic sprays or gels like Volini, Dynapar, and Relispray.

Take rest and refrain from any strenuous physical activity like lifting weights or bending forward for 10 to 15 days. Gradually start exercising only if exercises which u can tolerate. stretch backwards and do spine extension exercises. Get an x-ray lower back and hip to rule out bony injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Roy
