Hi,
Looking at your description I would advise you for a battery of tests to establish a diagnosis like blood for CBC, ESR and AEC (absolute
eosinophil count), Liver function test an ultrasound abdomen and
stool test for ova, cyst and protozoa. In my opinion you may require a course of antibiotics like
Norfloxacin and Tinidazole group of drugs under medical supervision. Meanwhile you should take lots of fluids like ORS solution and fruit juices to counter
dehydration and electrolyte imbalances.
Since you are avoiding wheat and not getting relief than chances of
wheat allergy is less likely. If you can write back to me with following details I will be able to tell you more accurately
- Frequency and consistency of stool your food habit, height and weight?
- History of any other disease like liver disease or thyroid disorders. You should maintain good hygiene to avoid spread of infection by washing your hands with soap and water every time you use washroom.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question and I will gladly answer you.
Best wishes,
Dr. B R Hudda
