I have what i was told is a lipoma its in my shoulder. It started out the size of a pimple and its now just a little smaller than a dime. It aches in that shoulder area as its started to grow. Should i apply heat or ice or both? Thank u for helping me.
Hi & Welcome to HCM. Usually treatment is not necessary for a lipoma. However, since it is growing and causing pain it needs to be removed by surgical excision under local anesthesia. This is the most effect way of treatment of lipoma. Recurrences after removal are uncommon. Possible side effects are scarring and bruising. Advised to consult a general surgeon for further evaluation.
