Suggest Treatment For Lesions On The Eyelids Of A Child

My son has a lesion on his eyelid. It is oval-shaped, looks like it has a small nick in it, feels smooth except in the middle where the little nick is. Doesn t itch, doesn t hurt. Took to pediatrician, prescribed an antibiotic cream. Lesion healed significantly with cream, but returned. Dr switched him to a hydrocortisone cream...looks worse. It s dark red with like a white film over it...look almost like dry skin. It s oval no rolled borders just smooth but almost perfectly oval. Had for six or eight weeks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
