Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 75 year old man and I am experiencing pains in my left upper leg particularly when standing. I have been to a Dr who told me I had arthritis but not severely. Is ther anything I can do about this - by the way the pain does go when I sit down again?
Hello, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from left thigh pain. It may be due to lumbar spondylosis or osteoarthritis of left hip joint. It can be confirmed by x-rays. MRI of spine rule out other causes.Diacerine, glucosamine sulfate, neurotropic such as methycobalamin and analgesics (DICLOFENAC 100 MG SLOW RELEASE TABLETS) give relief. Vitamin D test is advised if it is low than vitamin D supplementation will be required. Avoid long continuous standing. Sit in a straight posture. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
