Suggest Treatment For Leg Pain In A Child

My five year old son complains of leg pain often. Most of the time it is in the knee area. I have noticed it is when he wakes up in the morning, does a lot of walking or late at night when he is over tired. Could this be growing pains or something more serious. You should know that my son has had viral rhabdo & myositits twice due to the flu in the winter 2013 & 2014

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should see if any local trauma. Get checked with a neurologist for a possible neurological issue if no local trauma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
