Suggest Treatment For Leg Lymphoma Along With Burning Pain
I was diagnosed with lymphoma in December in my leg. It caused horrible pain, and caused me to limp on my right side. I started having a numb pain that also burned on my left leg. I was diagnosed with meralgia paresthetica today, but the dr said that it just has to run its course. Upon investigation on the web, there are several medications that I can take to ease the discomfort. Should I get a second opinion?
Treatment for Meralgia paresthetica consists of weight loss 9 if you are overweight or obese) and avoiding tight belts. Analgesics in the form of a lidocaine patch(5%), non-steroidal agents, and occasionally medications for neuropathic pain can be used ( e.g.Gabapentin, Pregabalin, Duloxetine). Rarely, locally injecting the nerve( lateral femoral cutaneous nerve) with an anesthetic can be tried. However symptoms often resolve spontaneously over weeks or months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas,
