Suggest Treatment For Knots Under The Armpits

I have a knot that came up under my armpit last night. When I first noticed it , it was about the size of a nickel, this morning it is bigger than a quarter. It is very sore to the touch & it hurts really bad when I move my arm up and back down. What can this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely the lump in the armpit is a blocked sweat gland. This can cause it to swell and be painful. Sometimes it may become red and hot as well.

Please do not squeeze it as this will make it worse. Just apply warm compresses to send more blood there and heal quicker.

If it is not improving in a few days or if you think it is getting worse you might need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
