Suggest Treatment For Knee Swelling After An Injury
Hello! about 2 hours ago I lost my balance and was unable to catch myself due to stuff on the floor. I didn t fully fall but more crashed into stuff. But now my left knee is super swollen, I have medial pain on the anterior aspect of my knee and the skin itself hurts to even touch. It feels like it s cut or scraped but it is not. Should I do anything besides the RICE formula? I m sorry. I didn t realize I d have to pay 15 bucks for my question. Thank you anyway

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to just soft tissue injury or a meniscal tear. A physical examination with an orthopedician is necessary to get clue for that and a X ray followed by MRI might needed in case of signs of meniscal tear. RICE can be continued till you consult your doctor. In case of serious injury a diagnostic arthroscopy and correction will be needed. If it is mild then elastic bandage application and quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises will be helpful. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
