Suggest Treatment For Itchy Welts On Arms And Back
My friend and her mom are scratching welts on their back and arms they want to just knock themselves out just so they won t scratch anymore. I know this might seem vague, or maybe not any idea? Doctor Rynne oh, and they have no pets. live in Manhattan New York on the 5th floor very swanky neighborhood.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itchy welts on arms and back . Well it can be due to hives. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged period . Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms , so above treatment should be taken after consultation of your dermatologist with proper examination and rule out conditions like psoriasis and eczema . You may take Vitamin C and apply calamine lotion on the rashes.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
