Suggest Treatment For Itchy Vagina During Pregnancy
Hi I m 18 weeks pregnant and have had an itchy vagina it also has small red spots on it which I assume is from shaving. I have scratched the top part which has led to a breakage in the skin. I used thrush cream last week thinking maybe I had thrush even though I had no other signs . What s the best treatment ? Thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, Itchy vagina is suggestive of vaginal infection. A high vaginal swab would be advisable for micro-biological examination to isolate the infectious agent causing itching. If any infectious agent is isolated, appropriate anti-microbial therapy would be required. You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, vaginal swan and prescription of medication. Till the time the infection is being treated, I suggest you to with-hold the shaving of vuvla. Cuts or nicks during shaving can get infected so its best to avoid it till vaginal infection gets cleared.
Hi, It seems that due to lack of proper local hygiene during pregnancy there might be having some irritation and itching giving rise this problem. Wash local parts with plane water and apply thrush cream or triple action cream. keep local hygiene clean, dry and airy. Ok and take care.
