Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Rash On Neck

My question: I woke up with a rash over my neck and the area is bumpy, itchy and reddened. I had to take a Benadryl. I don t recall eating or doing anything different. I am using Nerium on my neck and was wondering if this caused this redness and itchiness, Thanks Jane

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Yes Nerium has also been a culprit for many patients. I searched on that when a lot of my patients came with this complaint and my PA collected the data. I was thinking on lines of Bug bite/Insect bite but when I saw the data of patients, there was a major difference in socioeconomic status of the patients and bug-insect bite was somewhat unlikely looking. On detailed drug-history data collected via front desk calls revealed many cosmetics being the cause of the face and neck rashes and one of them was Nerium too.

I suggest you to upload a picture of the neck lesion in a follow up query for further diagnosis (and if you need personalized medical opinion and expert help). Stop applying Nerium (instead of age defying on you neck skin, it may cause even scars and more rashes).

Take plenty of water and take a shower with Oatmeal Milk and Honey Body Wash. No scented soaps please. Take Benadryl for relief from itch as you already took. Apply ProCort topical ointment of the rash for relief and cure.
