Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes In The Pubic Area
I am male and have been diagnosed with thrush but the rash has begun to cause itching in other areas eg pubic area, chest and testicles, where the veins are also noticeable darker than usual. Is this normal for thrush spreading or is it something else?
You have a history of having Thrush. Since you complain of the infection spreading in the pubic area, testicles & chest, your immunity system seems to be compromised.
1. People with weakened immune system are prone to get thrush. If you are diabetic, keep your blood sugar under control or it will trigger the spread of infections.
2. Risk factors are HIV/AIDS. You are suggested to visit ER, get STD tests done to rule out STI & get treated if you are diagnosed with it. You may need antibiotics & antivirals (Acyclovir). You can take antifungal medications (Fluconazole) to get relieved.
3. Topical ointments like Hydrocortisone can be applied in the affected area to control itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
