Suggest Treatment For Ischemia Reperfusion Injury

My father had open heart surgery 1 year ago. He was having difficulty breathing(shortness of breath). His doctor ordered a stress test and an echo. The results were Ischemic Reperfusion injury. He goes for a cauterization next Thursday. What are the possible treatments for this? I was reading what it is and understand the problem but cannot find treatments. I understand that you cannot make diagnosis but just insight on what possibly can be done for this condition would set my mind at ease
