HI

I understand your concern and positive outlook for your nephew.

Mental retardation now a days called intellectual disability and it is permanent disability.

It is due to lack of proper growth of brain.
it is not possible by any mean to grow brain.

you have to accept his limitations and support him.

Psychological assessment is must to identify his IQ and level of adaptation in different area.

Need to teach him like a special child. There are many schools in which rehabilitation program will be carried out.

Medicines is only help to control his behavior but not useful to enhance his intellectual power.

consult psychiatrist and take advise.

parental counseling is must.

still have query then feel free to ask.

Thank you.
