Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello

Thanks for your query to HCM

You have symptoms like poor sleep, tiredness, feeling that body is heated, racing heart (palpitations), inability to workout etc. These symptoms can occur due to anxiety or due to mild depression. Either anxiety is causing decrease in sleep or chronic insomnia is causing anxiety and depressive symptoms. But as symptoms are persistent I would advise you to consult a Psychiatrist for treatment.

Medicines like Mirtazepine, Trazodon, Amitriptylline etc can improve sleep as well as depressive symptoms. For short time benzodiazepines can also be used for sleep.

Apart from medicine improve sleep hygiene.

-Fix your time to go to sleep
-Use bed only for sleeping and not for reading or watching TV
-Avoid tea, coffee, smoking in evening
-Avoid day time sleeping
-Bathing in evening with warm water will also help
-Dont do any work that increase attention in evening like reading course books or doing calculations etc.

Thanks, hope this helps you. Consult a Psychiatrist if problem persist.
