Suggest Treatment For Insomnia Despite Taking Klonopin

I m taking klonapin for insomnia. It helped in the pass but it stops after a few months. Ambien cr stopped after a couple months I just increased the dose of klonapin from .5 mg to 1 milligram yesterday. Doctor said I could go to 1 mg. So far not much help I was on 2m and after I hit the brick wall it took me 8 weeks to ween off. Suggestions?

Hi,

Unfortunately, the problem with these sleep pills is that they became less and less effective with time and need more dose. For this reason, we avoid prolonged use.

While you can take the dose up to 3 mg at night, very slowly and carefully with the advice of your doctor, however, you should more focus on sleep hygiene and causes of insomnia rather than depending on sleep pills.
