Suggest Treatment For Inflammation And Redness Due To Gum Disease
I recently went for a check up at the dentist and he said I need to see a hygienist to get my teeth cleaned and I have gum disease but he didn't say if it was mild or aggressive. I then went to get my teeth cleaned by the hygienist she took all the tartar off them and polished them and I asked if my gums would improve and she said yes I will see some improvement soon. It has been nearly 4 weeks now, although my gums look pinker they are still a bit inflamed, have I not gave enough time for them to improve more or should I go to the dentist again? I'm really worried
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of inflammation and redness due to gum disease which could be due to gingivitis/ periodontitis and it can leads to accumulation of deposits on teeth.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dentist( periodontist) again and get complete examination done and start treatment after thorough examination. You should go for thorough cleaning scaling and if required go for root planning as well. Maintain complete oral hygiene. You should not take substances such as tea, coffee and junk food. Use antiseptic mouthwash.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
