Suggest Treatment For Infected Stitches

Hi, I have recently had stitches on the inside and outside of my lip, (I had a hole in it). A couple of the stitches on the inside came out and now I think it is infected. I am in a foreign country and wont be able to get to my docotor for a few days, what can I do to clean it.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that coming out of the stitches along with infection in the area of stitches over the inside and outside of the lips can be due to infection and in case if the stitches are lost and you have infection, then the infection can keep on progressing deeper as well as after healing there can be scar formation..
You should consult a local dentist in the area where you are present and get evaluated and if needed he can replace the stitches for initiating healing and along with it can also advise you a combination or oral and topical antibiotics..
Do cool compresses over the area..
As of now you should clean the area with betadine solution and apply antibiotic ointment over it..
