Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It's the fourth day of my 'hangover' and I'm still having digestive issues. I have yellow stool and anything I try to eat goes through me in a small amount of time. My muscles are very sore. I was on antibiotics last week, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Hello, Welcome to HCM Yes, having been on antibiotics last week is likely to be related to your bowel movement problem/diarrhea. Antibiotic treatment is a known to cause so called #1. Antibiotic-Associated Diarrhea (AAD) or #2 Clostridium Difficile Diarrhea. AAD is a milder form - usually self limiting - more often seen in the community. Clostridium Difficile Diarrhea is usually seen in hospitalized or immunocompromised patients, and this will require testing and if diagnosed, treatment with another special antibiotics.
Since your symptoms have lasted for 4 days already and there is no sign of improvement, you should see your doctor to be tested for Clostridium Difficile.
Wishing you best of health
