Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I may have impetigo, I have had this before about 3 years ago, its on my face, at first I thought it was a cold sore because it is close to my lip. This time I feel much worse so I m still not sure, my left side of my face hurts from my neck to the top of my head. My ear hurts my eye and I have sharp pains like lightning that happen in different spots of my left side of my face. Do I need to see a doctor?
If you are having open wound you need to take proper care of it as there are higher chances of getting reinfection in such cases. So cleaning with antiseptic and dressing with antibiotic ointment should be continued untill it is covered by scab or epithelial layer.
Brown color is suggestive of a step towards healing but you should give the care to wound still healing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
