Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern regarding your daughter. She is young and has developed idiopathic generalised seizures. In most of individuals with seizures usually no definite cause is found. These seizures are called as idiopathic seizures. Her MRI was normal and on EEG some seizure discharges were found which further strengthens that her seizures are idiopathic in origin. In such seizures usually broad spectrum anti-epileptic drugs are used. Commonly these days Phenytoin, Sodium Valproate etc drugs are used. She is on Eptoin 250 mg per day and as per my opinion she is on correct drug and in right doses. Continue to give her Folic Acid tablets as per her doctor advised along with Eptoin. She is also on Frisium and if she has just recently developed seizures and then please discuss with her doctor and ask him to reduce the doses of Frisium and then stop completely. As per my opinion Eptoin alone would help to control seizures.

Don't be worried about her future. She is on right drugs and most of individuals with seizure improve with time and they lead normal life as any other normal individual. Her future is totally safe. She should attend her school regularly and should take medicines daily.

Thanks, I hope this reassures you. Take care
