Hi,I am Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My grandson age 2, has had a fever for 2 days that keeps spiking up to about 102. Pediatrician did bloodwork today and said hemoglobin is low but no other symptoms detected. Fever went up to 104 and ped doesn t seem concerned yet. When could this get dangerous? Thank GOD this isn t an emergency!!!
It can be just a viral infection which are very common at this age. The blood work will not show anything in this case. If it was a bacterial infection the white blood cells should be elevated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
