Hi, My husband, age 71, had a subarachnoid hemorrhagic stroke on June 13 -- the bleed was small and at the top of his head and the light stroke was in the front right lobe (I think that s correct). He first experienced tingling, pins & needles & numbness beginning in his left shoulder, then arm and then down the left side of his body to the bottom of his feet. He was outside with our son who got him to the house and called 911. By the time the EMTs arrived feeling had returned to all affected limbs and he passed all the tests they do. He went to ER by private vehicle. His BP was high -- 200+/150+. ER did a CT scan & saw the brain bleed and sent us to another hospital that could take better care of him. It was determined at the 2nd hospital where he was in Neuro ICU that both were caused by high blood pressure. He did not have an aneurysm. He was released after his BP stayed 150/85 for at least two hours--time spent in ICU & Neuro floor was 2 nights followed by 1 full day. Tues night, Wed night & daytime Thur. He experienced what hospital staff called residuals with the tingling, pins & needles, heaviness, numbness of limbs on the left side several times while in hospital and has had 9 episodes from just his L arm being affected to his entire left side being affected. They usually last 15-20 minutes though a couple of been of longer duration. We were told these residuals are common but I m wondering if he is having an unusual number of them in the approximately 48 hours since we have been home. Thank you for any information you can give me.
