Suggest Treatment For High BP And Seizure

Hi doc... Patient Banwari Lal sharma, age 80yrs, frm hissar Haryana is suffering frm high Bp n due to which his right hand got paralysed n some part of brain was seen infarted. Treatment is going on frm last 20 days frm paras hospital, gurgaon. Today he got seizure( fits) n got unconscious . Kindly give us ur expert advice wat to do now Thanxst

Hi welcome to HCM.
Elevated blood pressure can contribute to brain damage if not promptly treated.Seizures during hypertensive episode are caused by encephalopathy,which can lead to convulsive episodes.Antiepileptic medications are the mainstay of treatment.Maintenance of blood pressure under 140/80 mm of hg is recommended in case of hypertensive encephalopathy.Antiplatelets and antihypertensives are other drugs used in the management of this condition.Consult your neurologist for further help.
