General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
Well, the very fact that you have had been diagnosed with fibroids 12 years ago suggests that your menstrual disturbances could have been caused due to its increase in size and may be also in number. Their presence is known to cause heavy and prolonged bleeding. You should certainly need to get evaluated for the status of fibroid.
Kindly get an ultrasound abdomen done at the earliest and consult Gynecologist with report for the appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
All the best.
