Suggest Treatment For Heart Murmur In A Child

My son (age 6) was just diagnosed with a heart murmur, we go for an echocardiogram in two weeks to figure out what kind. He is exposed to second hand smoke at his great grandmothers house about twice a week...can that cause or make a murmur worse? He was born with a murmur that closed by age 6 months...he had never had any murmur issues at any previous well child visits until now.

Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think you should get further evaluated.
You should do an urine analysis and uroculture and also an ultrasound of the kidneys.
I think you may be suffering from a urinary track infection or kidney infection.
You may need antibiotics.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
