Hello I am actually quite concerned about my husband. He is 52 years old and hasn t had his yearly in 2 full years! In the past all has checked out fine though. However We all as a family have noticed that over the last several months his hearing has gotten quite bad and shortly after noticing this he had to take 3 Long Plane trips which he says one year feels as if it needs to pop , but will not! I have No Idea if one thing has to do with another , as I have earned him to go see his Doctor to at the very least check out those ears and perhaps have them flushed or cleaned out properly! So anyway, tonight he asked me to look at what he thought must be a terrible Boil behind his right ear , which is the ear that gives him the most trouble, as I checked I was very alarmed to feel what felt rather hard it is just along the hair line, but about 2 maybe 3 behind his ear? Its about the size of a Robins egg and doesn t move at all! It doesn t stick out per say either and is more within his head! He says it doesn t hurt and he still thinks its a boil that has not come to its head yet? , But I searched carefully it is not red, sore, crusty or Hot and I see no signs of a hole or any spot where discharge would come to a head from it? He has complained of on and off headaches and we have had some stressful things going on and he is over weight though has not had an appetite in weeks now! To make things clear his father passed away of a Brain Tummor at the age of 52 back in 1982. Im trying not to scare him , but Im freaking out! He is planing another trip soon and I really think he should at least see a Doctor ASAP b4 he goes anywhere! The only complaints he makes are about his ears , poor hearing and on and off popping sounds and 2 nights ago he said this hearing went down even lower in that ear again!?? What could this be and could the 2 things be connected at all?
