Suggest Treatment For Headache, Hot Flashes And Sweating

My daughter is 28 yrs old. Having random bad headaches with episodes of hot flashes then turn into sweats. Medical history is asthma and high triglycerides. She is physically active, but has always battled her weight. She is very much aware of the importance of diet and exercise. She tries hard. She a complained of stomach pains about a week ago.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

At the age of 28, hot flashes and sweats should be looked at as hormonally driven events.

I would recommend she be seen by OBGYN first who could try regulating her as necessary with birth control if she also may have irregular periods, etc. Or if necessary, an endocrinologist.

If she is unable to lose weight despite good dieting and regimented exercise activities then, she may need an investigation of her thyroid and/or adrenal glands as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
