Suggest Treatment For Headache And Neck Stiffness

I m currently taking one Vynanse 40 mg /day as prescribed. I m 38, female, 5 7 and 135 pounds. I have noticed after several months without any worrisome side effects, that after 4-5 hours, I get a headache no OTC meds will remedy, along with a stiff neck, like my muscles are tense. I do chase after a two year old all day, and they likely are, but this seems different.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for your question on HCM!

Your symptoms could be related to tension type headache or to adverse effects of vyvanse.

I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination, a cervical column X ray study (for possible spondylarthrosis) and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes).

A brain CT scan may be necessary in case of an abnormal neurological examination ( for possible intracranial lesion in the posterior part of the brain).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes!Dr. Aida Quka
