Suggest Treatment For Headache After Head Injury

My 18 year old daughter got hit in the side of her head yesterday behind her ear playing softball. It was a thrown ball, not a hit ball. She had a headache last night and says she still has one today. Should she go to the doctor to have things checked out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to the injury. The headache after the injury is normal.

I suggest using Acetaminophen 500 mg three times a day. If she has nausea vomiting or confusion I suggest to go at the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
