Suggest Treatment For Head Pain Post An Injury In Children

Hi, my son (8 yrs) was trying to surprise his dad when he got home from work by hiding in our bed. He and his siblings ran off to my room and the lights were off and he slipped off the bed and fell on his hip and his head hit my dresser. He said his head hurt but no bumps (applied ice pack) and hip was a little red. His spirits were good the rest of the night but before bed he said his head hurt still and his eyes looked glassy. He said his head felt swirly. I shined my cell phone flash light in his eyes and I didn t notice dilation. I didn t see this happen so don t know the force of his fall and he could just be really tired - he s in bed now. I plan to wake him in an hour or 2 to see if he responds. Am I doing the right things?
