Suggest Treatment For Hard Painful Swelling Near Ear With History Of Tonsillectomy

I m 47 years old, diabetic and had a tonsillectomy almost a month ago. I ve recoverd fairly well until Friday. I started with swelling and hard lymph nodes above my right ear and behind it. The dr called me out Omnicef and told me to massage and use heat. I ve been doing that but now the nodes above and below my ear are still hard and swollen but a little bit better and the swelling, tenderness has moved to all around my ear and on the occipital bone. Is this related to my tonsillectomy? Oh and I still have some small scabs left but they don t look any different than they did before.
