Suggest Treatment For Hard Lump On Jaw Line

Hello I have a large firm lump at my jaw line just below my ear. I have gotten it before and it's painful, usually lasts anywhere from an hour or 2 to up to a day or more but then it goes away and I don't have any pain afterwards. I have gotten them on both sides, usually one side at a time, just wanting to know what it could be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain a recurring bump under the ear along with pain can be a swollen parotid gland secondary to bacterial infection while it can also be due to inflammation of the gum flap over the gum flap over the wisdom teeth and it can also cause swelling and pain in the area under the ear lobe..
The exact cause can be ruled out after a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray , provided that you should go to the oral physician when the swelling is present..
In case if it is due to infection in parotid gland then a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller and cool compresses will relieve..
Drink plenty of water..
In case if it is due to Pericoronitis that is inflammation of the gum flap over the wisdom tooth and as it is recurring then either removal of the gum flap or extraction of wisdom tooth will relieve the symptoms..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
