Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband are getting scabs on his arms and it s spreading. One started off as a small crusted sore then a big red ring developed around it then the crust spread to the length of the red ring all within a few days. It s about 3/4 in diameter. He s also getting about 3 more small crusted sores but no red ring yet.
Before running into final conclusions, I need to have a photo of the crusted sores your husband is having on his arms.
Usually, crusted scabs are considered as normal part of healing process of skin lesions. However, as they are spreading, then, there are 3 possibilities: - allergic reaction - skin infection (fungal) - dermatitis
A careful physical evaluation of the skin scabs, and examination of skin scrabbing are needed to determine the right cause. Further evaluation by dermatologist is also highly recommended.
Looking forward to have the photos in.
