OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your problem. You are having this grinding sensation in your belly because the baby's head must be pushing down the pelvis (known as head engagement of the fetus) as your expected date of delivery is near. The pain in lower back and hips, if continuous is due to the stretching of the ligaments and if it is intermittent, then it is a sign that you will go into labor soon. I would suggest you to consult your OBGYN soon so that you can be examined properly.
Hope this answers your question.
Wishing you god health.
