Suggest Treatment For Gastric Problem And Loose Stools
I am 24 years old, 135lbs and no health problems other than the occasional cold. I have had terrible gas and light colored loose stool for 4 days regardless of whether I eat anything or not. I have gas so painful that I was feeling nauseated. Should I see my doctor? Is this anything to worry about?
Terrible gas associated with light colored loose stool for 4 days is indicating a mild gastrointestinal infection/inflammation.
I advise to take: - Antacids to optimize stomach pH - Probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora - Tasectan or Peptobismol, if loose stool continues - Oral rehydration salts to replace the lost electrolytes
If after a few days, you'll have the same symptoms, should see your physician and run following diagnostic tests: - Abdominal ultrasound - Stool analysis and culture - Urine analysis - Complete blood count
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Albana Sejdini
