Suggest Treatment For Fractured Ribs, Punctured Lung And Muscle Spasms After Injury

Hi Dr. – I had a motorcycle accident eight weeks ago and broke nine ribs, my left scapula, punctured and collapsed lung, had four titanium strips put in and caught mrsa. I m now home and recovering but the constant muscle spasms and stabbing pain that feels like a heart attack is not tolerable, even with pain medication. Is there anything I can do to control the muscle spasms? Greg

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to injury. For further treatment you may require urgent medical care. For further assessment you may require computed tomography chest, complete hemogram, after chest physician consultation. You may require chest tube insertion after consultation. You may require continuously vitals monitoring.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
