Suggest Treatment For Folliculitis On The Ankles And Legs

Yes I hope, I have had folliculitis over 5 yrs now on my ankles and legs and it seems to be spreading again, have done the dr.s antibiotics and is only a temp solution. Where do i begin to permanently get rid of this embarrasing bacterial infection, oh yeah, I know the only thing a dr will say is stop scratching, much easier said then done, are there any real solutions to begin to rid myself of this chronic bacterial infection?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can understand your condition. It is very difficult to cure these skin lesion. You need to find out if there is any other causes that these medicines are not effective in your case. For example if you are Diabetic, smoker or alcoholic. These condition causes decrease in immunity leading to recurrence of the lesion.
I would also recommend you to change your antibiotics as some time there is development of the resistance and that causes persistent infection. Avoid wearing very tight socks .
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
