My very healthy puppy bit down on the index finger. There are small punctures and approximate half the nail was pulled off It happened yesterday there is some slight swelling and the finger feels warm. No other signs of onfection

I can understand your concern.
Incomplete data like the vaccination status of your puppy.

1. Thorough washing of the wound with soap/detergent and water, followed by the application of ethanol or solution of iodine or povidone.

2. The five-dose regimen anti rabies vaccine to be taken on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28 into the deltoid muscle.

3. Inj. Tetanus toxoid if your tetanus vaccination is not updated.

4. You may need a course of appropriate antibiotic for possible infection.
