Suggest Treatment For Fibroid In Uterus

I was diagnosed with a single fibroid in my uterus size of 2.6 cm. I am 53 years old post menopausal. I also had a diagnosis of left ovary 1.9 cm an ANECHOIC CYST WHICH MAY REPRESENT AN ADNEXAL/OVARIAN CYST. I VISITED THE ER And was given blood test, Urinalysis test, CAT scan, transversed sagittal transabdominal and endovaginal sonograms of my pelvis and those were the findings that I listed above. Could this be causing my symptoms of Lower left quadrant pain. This pain I experienced about every 7 to 10 years. The ER doctor said that 70% of a dongle pains that present themselves in the ER never diagnosed. However after reading my findings after visit summary report, I am a little alarmed about the fibroid cyst in my uterus along with the cyst on my left ovary what do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern about having fibroid in uterus and cyst in the ovary.
I feel you need to undergo operation of both conditions at one go. Fibroid is removed by an operation called 'myomectomy'. Ovarian cyst has to be removed, but weather to remove only the cyst or some part of other tissues which are affected can only be decided by examination findings on the operation table itself.
Kindly get your condition evaluated thoroughly from a Gynecologist for further management.
Wish you all the best.
