Suggest Treatment For Fatigue And Lack Of Energy

HI, Doc, I often feel so sleepy during the day and fall asleep , sometimes even during the eating. 4 month ago, I slept during the driving. It was so extrmemly sleepy and I got an accident. Fortunately, I did not get injured. Now, I am sleeping during the day while I am sitting in the chair. Also, for long time, my sleeping pattern is so wrong. I go to bed after 6 AM and mostly slept for 3 or 4 hours only due to so many worrying things . I seem just not able to change my sleep pattern. I am so afraid that I sleep during the wake up hours. My mother is also sleeping in the day all day... Is this inherited from my mother ? My mother is 88 years old. I am 67 years old. Is this older people s problem ? Please give me your opinion. thanks. Jane.

Hello,

First of all, I am glad that you did not get injured during the accident, it is very important that you refrain from driving until we sort your sleep issues.

You have to analyze why are you not sleeping during night time, are you working late? Are there any other issues that keep you occupied during night hours?

Since you are sleeping during day time, that implies you are normal just with an irregular sleep pattern.

There are certain exercises that can help regularize your sleep pattern, for that most important thing is you yourself analyzing the factors that have caused this deviation.

Try addressing your worries, the ones you can work it out face them, the ones you cannot, don't bother about them.

Lastly yes elder individuals have sleep issues, however, that doesn't mean it can't be addressed and resolved.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
