Suggest Treatment For Esophageal Soreness

Hey Doctor, I am a 61 year old male 6'3" tall and weigh 230 lbs. The other day I took some very hot food from the microwave and thinking that it wasn't that hot swallowed it. About half way down my esophagus I got a very severe burning sensation. It seemed to pass okay with a little soreness in my chest. The next morning when I ate breakfast I noticed that when I ate toasted bread I could feel a soreness in that same area. Is it possible that I may have caused a burn on my esophagus? Thanks in advance
