Suggest Treatment For Erection Problem

I'm having difficulty with erections lately. I find it difficult to get an erection when I am with my girlfriend but also when I am alone. For the past 12 years I have not been in a relationship with anyone. I used to masturbate 2-3 times a day every day for those 12 years to pornography. Three months ago I started dating this amazing woman and our first sexual encounter, I could not become erect at all. I stopped masturbating regularly and stopped watching pornography. As time went on I was able to have sex with her by using supplements or a Cialis at certain occasions. I am 30 years old a little over weight but I do cardio and weights 3 times a week to lose weight. I don't smoke or drink at all. Also I don't have spontaneous erections at all throughout the day. Only recently have I started to wake up with morning erections. I also don't really feel much when she touches my penis or when she gives me oral. Although after a lot of work she can make me ejaculate using those methods but most of the time I'm not fully erect. When we have intercourse, I usually can't last more than 2 minutes and I'm also not fully erect. I would say maybe 70% erect. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I'm taking a lot of supplements that help a little but I want a permanent solution to this problem. Can I be restored to normal?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic,

I have gone through your query in detail and can certainly understand your concern and worry.

I would advise you to check your sustainability of erection by a simple test called NPT penile tumescence in which erections occur in the early morning during sleep which can rule out any problem

If it is normal, there is nothing to worry it is unlikely that you are suffering from any erection problem.

So, I can say that you might be stressful with your busy schedule to try to spend some time with your partner to get rid of any understanding problems or anxiety.

I would advise you to follow a simple method called Master and Johnson technique which would certainly help you.

In that, the lady partner has to make some signal or she can squeeze (squeezing technique) the penis forward just before you ejaculates, which would make your erection to last longer and sexual satisfaction would be better.

This method is very effective but it takes little time for the couple to get appropriate result in it, so be patient and be relaxed.

The other advise I can suggest is, if you are anxious and stressed you may need to take anti-anxiety drugs like Escitalopram (prescription based medication) which would help to get relief from anxiety and fear.

Still is it is not better, you can take sildenafil tablets.

So please follow these techniques and consultant your Psychiatrist for further guidance.

Please post your further questions if any. I will available to answer your follow up questions
