Suggest Treatment For Epiglottis

My father was just recently diagnosed with his Epiglottis was not closing properly. He was also told his left voice box was not working. His left side of his head and ear hurt and he can not lay on his left side of head at all. To painful. MRI came back normal and so did soft tissue cat scan. Barium test found problem. Is the only fix a feeding tube for the rest of his life?

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear epiglottitis due to trauma may it takes time. If it is serious may cause blokage of respiratory tract need emergency intervention.

Medical treatment like steroid may helpful. I think he is also suffering from laryngeal nerve palsy which may lead to lack of closure of vocal folds lead to aspiration. Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
