Suggest Treatment For Epididymitis

Hi, For the past couple of weeks i have been having slight pain in my right testicle. I went to see gp and he told me that it was epididymitis. He put me on antibiotics for 5 days only and anti-inflammatory medicine. There is slight inflammation. The pain started to decrease during the medicine and there was very minimal pain at the end of the fifth day. But i started to have pain again, not as much as it used to be but i can still feel it. Should i go to doctor and ask him for antibiotic that will last lomger? Also i work as a carpenter, meaning that i am constantly moving around all day and lifting heavy timber sometimes, does that have anything to do with it?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, you should revisit your doctor if the pain is recurring especially since the course is now completed.

A new course may be given of the same antibiotic or you may be given another antibiotic to use for a longer period of time.

If there is no improvement then you may need to consult an urologist. This is doctor that specializes in the urinary and genital tract.

I hope this helps
