Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of sore throat and swollen papillae that seems to be swollen and inflamed Circumvallate papillae that are located on the back one third of tongue seems to be due to throat infection and as the back portion of tongue is in close location with throat inflammation of throat can cause enlarged papillae..

Consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a throat swab culture can be diagnostic..

In case of bacterial infection antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers, warm saline gargles, steam inhalation can help..
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, chew Vitamin C pellet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
