My 75-year-old mother, who has high blood pressure and cholesterol, plus was born with only kidney, had a conclusion from the cardiologist which states: The left atrium is mildly enlarged There is sclerosis of the aortic valve cusps without stenosis. There is a mild degree of aoritic regurgitation Mildly dilated ascending aorta at 3.7 The left ventricular chamber size is normal. There are no segmental wallmotion abnormalities. Systolic Function is normal. The ejection fraction is estimated at 65% what does this all mean?
U have mentioned 2D ECHO findings. Mildly enlarged LA is not concern according to her age and lpng standing hypertension. Concern is to prevent progression. Which drug is she taking for BP and Cholesterol?
