Suggest Treatment For Elbow Fracture

I m a 40 yr old female, had a minor fracture in radial head of right elbow in oct 2011. Resulted in stiff elbow and had arthoscopic elbow release in Dec 2011. Did CPM in hospital with some success. 5days later elbow flexion was reduced so moved to use of Mayo brace wih no success. Now I have been referred to Neurologist to review muscle activity and inject Botox if required. I m interested in ideas in such treatment will work to improve ROM for flexion and extension on right elbow?

Hello,

The stiffness in the elbow movements after a release procedure is likely to be due to a muscle spasm. Botox injections can help in improving such a spasm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
