Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain Post Injury

Hi. I was on vacation and fell backwards into the pool to get in and when I hit it he water it was like someone clapped my ears at the same time and it was like compression. Since then my ear (right) has been aching and feels as if there is a pulse or heart beat in it. My wife looked at it when I got home with a cheap ear thing we use for the kids to check their ears and she took a picture of the normal left one and the hurting right one which looks red and and has 4 little dark specs on it. Any need for concern?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, due sudden increase in pressure and water has seeped into your ear while falling into the pool. This has caused ear drum perforation and you have got middle ear infection. That is the cause for your symptoms. It is better to consult an ENT surgeon.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
Dr. C. Elanchezhian, General & Family Physician
